The INTACH Uttarakhand website, in three versions
Three home pages built on the same content: the thirteen districts and their crafts, the year's fairs and festivals, the four chapters and INTACH's work. Each one works as a real website would, from the menus and the crafts map to search and the season cards.
For review by INTACH Uttarakhand · not the official website
-
Version 1
Overview
A classic home page: who INTACH Uttarakhand is, the crafts map, museums, walks and conservation, the latest activities and the chapters.
-
Version 2
The threshold
Built around a visitor's questions, behind an Aipan-framed red doorway: a craft atlas to find any craft, a month-by-month calendar of fairs, and a list of INTACH's work.
-
Version 3
Plan a visit
Modelled on the UK National Trust's website: search, the districts on a map, what's on this season, ideas for a day out, and a page for each of the thirteen districts.
Two typefaces to compare
Every page has a small panel at the bottom left. It switches between the three versions and between these two sets of typefaces, and remembers your choice while you browse.
Heritage
The living heritage of Uttarakhand
उत्तराखण्ड की जीवित विरासत
Copper is still beaten in Almora and Aipan is still drawn on doorsteps.
Rozha One for headings, Mukta for text. Both were made for Hindi as well as English.

Good to know
- The text comes from INTACH Uttarakhand's newsletters for 2024 to 2026 and is still to be checked by the chapters.
- Some photos are stand-ins from Wikimedia Commons, credited on the page. INTACH's own photographs will replace them.
- Every version works on phones as well as laptops.
